Tustin Police Foundation aims to make our city safer and stronger with the partnership of the community and the Tustin Police Department.

Tustin Police Foundation – 2026 Strategic Roadmap

In 2026, the Tustin Police Foundation continues to serve as the premier private partner to the Tustin Police Department. Our mission is to bridge the gap between municipal constraints and the high-tech, community-focused needs of a modern law enforcement agency.
The Foundation successfully secured $50,000 in fundraising specifically dedicated to the purchase and training of two new K9 dogs for the department. To prioritize their safety on the front lines, we also funded the acquisition of specialized ballistic vests for both of these new K9’s. We further invested $20,000 into comprehensive department wellness initiatives, which included proactive health scans to support the long-term well-being of our personnel. Additionally, we provided $30,000 for new medical emergency equipment issued to patrol officers, significantly enhancing their life-saving capabilities during critical incidents. These strategic contributions reflect our core mission of providing the essential resources and technology that protect both our officers and the Tustin community.

2026 Strategic Goals

  • Execute the "Tustin for All" Technology Rollout: We are overseeing a landmark $7 million multi-year technology initiative. Our 2026 priority is securing the final funding stages and infrastructure for the Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) and Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs, projected to go fully live in 2027.

  • Surpass $250,000 in Annual Fundraising: Following a record-breaking previous year, we are targeting a six-figure fundraising goal to ensure the long-term sustainability of our high-impact programs.

  • Produce the 2026 Tustin PD Awards Night: On April 30, 2026, the Foundation hosted a premier gala to recognize the bravery and dedication of our officers, ensuring our personnel feel the full weight of community support.

  • Scale the UCI Field Study Internship Program: We continue to mentor a elite team of interns from the University of California, Irvine, providing them with hands-on experience in grant research, public safety communications, and law enforcement engagement.

  • Sustain 100% Volunteer Leadership: We remain committed to a zero-salary administrative model, ensuring every dollar donated goes directly to public safety and officer wellness.

  • Increase Community Engagement through events like Santa Cop, youth outreach, K9 campaigns, and partnerships with local organizations to strengthen public trust and foster positive police-community relationships.

  • Pursue Additional Grant Opportunities to support officer wellness, advanced training, community outreach initiatives, and equipment needs not covered by the city budget.

Together, these goals reflect our ongoing commitment to making Tustin a safer, stronger, and more connected community—working hand-in-hand with the department and the residents we serve.

2024 Impacts

In 2024, the Tustin Police Foundation demonstrated its commitment to enhancing public safety by investing nearly $33,000 to recapitalize the Crisis Negotiation Team with state-of-the-art equipment. This investment ensures that the Tustin Police Department remains at the forefront of crisis intervention capabilities, enhancing its ability to resolve critical incidents and keep our community safe peacefully. This initiative underscores the Foundation's dedication to supporting law enforcement and improving response capabilities to protect and serve the residents of Tustin effectively.

Recognizing the importance of well-trained and healthy officers, the Foundation has sponsored extensive training programs and wellness initiatives. These efforts focus on mental health support, physical fitness, and advanced skills training to ensure officers are well-prepared for their duties. In addition, the Foundation has donated over $25,000 in department Wellness Grants to promote healthier lifestyles for officers. These grants have been used for Ironman Teams, Specialized Classes, Fitness Equipment, Team Building, and Nutritional Programs, all aimed at improving the overall well-being of the police force.

The Foundation helped the department with almost $15,000 to support their participation in the Baker to Las Vegas Challenge Cup Relay. The Tustin Police Department performed admirably in the race, and the funds raised will help them build on their success and strive for even better results in the future.

The Tustin Police Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organization that provides critical resources and vital support to the Tustin Police Department. From essential equipment and state-of-the-art technology to specialized training and innovative programs that would otherwise be unfunded, the funding we provide directly improves public safety, impacts officer readiness, and enhances our quality of life. Since our establishment in 2011, we have invested in department initiatives that promote excellence, expand capabilities, strengthen neighborhoods and create opportunities for at-risk youth. We believe a safe city is a strong city. Together, we can make a difference.

We are committed to providing critical resources to safeguard our city and develop relationships that make our community strong. Funding from the Tustin Police Foundation focuses on three strategic initiatives:

Resources and Technology – It is critical that the Police Department to have the most advanced crime-fighting equipment and training. The Tustin Police Foundation raises funds to purchase state-of-the-art equipment and cutting-edge technology that improves the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department in the prevention, identification, and investigation of criminal activity.

Serving our Community – we fund programs geared toward strengthening cooperative relationships between the Police Department and the diverse community it serves in order to foster partnerships that enhance communication, trust, and public safety through community outreach.

Serving our Employees – The employees of Tustin Police Department, both sworn and civilian, are at the core of the mission of the Tustin Police Foundation. We believe that focusing on the physical and mental well-being of the employees of the Department gives them greater ability to focus on their mission to reduce crime, provide a sense of safety and security and improve the quality of life for those who visit, live, and work in the City of Tustin.

A SAFE CITY IS A STRONG CITY.

As an independent, not-for-profit organization and the largest private source of funding for the Tustin Police Department, our public/private partnership is a model of what can be achieved when we all work together for the common good.
