President - Leah Barrett

Officer Leah Barrett joined the Tustin Police Department in 2015 and graduated from OCSD Training Academy Class No. 220. A former university soccer coach and college counselor, Leah holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Education—backgrounds that reinforce her commitment to teamwork, leadership, and community engagement.

Career Highlights

  • K‑9 Unit: One of Tustin PD’s dedicated K‑9 handlers, Leah, plays a pivotal role in canine-supported patrol and search operations.
    Field Training Officer: She mentors new officers, sharing real‑world insights and excellence in patrol tactics.

Awards & Recognition: Leah was honored with a Distinguished Service Award for her exceptional bravery and community service during the major Chatham Village apartment fire in 2020.

  • Serves as K‑9 Handler and Field Training Officer at Tustin PD.

  • Member of the Recruitment Team, Honor Guard and Major Crimes Task Force at Tustin PD.

Member of the Tustin Police Foundation Board of Directors (2016–2026), currently serving as President (2025- Present). Leah is key in setting organizational direction and engaging community support. Leah Barrett believes in the power of leadership through service, whether it’s working alongside her K‑9 partner, guiding recruits during training, or fostering stronger community bonds. She remains a dynamic presence in the department and beyond.
